Tai Chi Twisting Pose

Tai Chi Twisting Pose

 Tai Chi Twisting Pose

1.        Stand with requirement of Standing Pose

2.        The shoulders should sink down, the hands and elbows should relax and hang on the sides of the body, and the fingers should be stretched but not straightened.

3.        The center of gravity shifts to the left leg, the weight falls into the left foot Yongquan point, and the center line of the body also leans to the left.

4.        With the center line as the center, the left side of the body including the shoulder, hip and knee form a center of gravity to rotate forward, and the right shoulder, hip and knee rotate backwards.

5.        When rotating, the left arm is driven forward and upward, and the right arm is backward and upward. The driven arm will fall due to gravity and slap on the body.

6.        The front palm (left palm) should land on the right hip joint, and the back hand (the back of the right palm should land on the sacrum.

7.        Pay attention that when rotating, the head is always facing forward and does not rotate, and the direction of the knee is only limited to forward and backward, and will not rotate with the body.

8.        After completing one slap, shift the weight from the left to the right leg and repeat the rotation and slap.

9.        Try to relax as much as possible when practicing this exercise, and use the centrifugal force when rotating the body to stretch the joints of the shoulder, neck, hip and elbow.
